I have always been good at writing and creativity but have now taken the time to do something that I didn’t think possible. All I knew was that I wanted to control my destiny. So I started a freelancing business and most of all — I followed my passion. It’s a liberating and challenging experience to say the least.
But as a start-up, I had no idea how to market myself or what clients were even looking for. No one knows you exist so it takes a lot of work to get out there and be seen. So I poured myself into research and took many classes. Over time, I hope that it will became easier to establish a brand and trust as I learn, adapt, and innovate the way that I operate.
When you are your own boss, you don't have anyone to blame but yourself if something goes wrong. If you want to succeed, it is up to you to persevere and endure until it happens. This is both a responsibility and a challenge.
A very important thing that I learned was to stay continuously updated and aware of the latest trends. I became data driven and assuaged my curiosity for everything related not only to freelancing but to all aspects of #entrepreneurship. I will even offer free work to gain experience, just to build a portfolio, or to gain a clients trust. Even though I'm not an expert at what I do just yet, —this journey is still teaching me both life and industry lessons.
I hope that one day I can look back at my struggles and meager beginnings to be one of those well established profitable companies that can tell its success story and encourage others on how to successfully walk that path.
My own path is continually unfolding as I continue my journey to push boundaries and explore opportunities along the way. Doing something that I love is its own reward. Now that I have started my own business as a #freelancewriter and #contentcreator I am able to share my stories with the world!
Thank you for taking the time to join me on this journey.
